We took a short day trip to Cannon Beach yesterday, and enjoyed the blue skies and sunny weather.

It was incredibly hard to get a picture of the beach without people, but I managed to get one or two by using my Joby gorillapod SLR-Zoom.

Forget the fact I don’t feel old enough to have a nephew getting married, it’s always hard to have someone take a photo of you when you don’t feel comfortable in front of the camera.

My husband does a great job though – he used to want to be a professional photographer, so he’s got camera skills.

This was me taking a short break to talk to a friend during the reception – I was actually tasked to take pictures, so mostly I was moving around (so this is a rare sitting down photo).

I didn’t actually run, but I participated in the 5k Shamrock Stride Fitness Walk. This means no timing chip, no pace worries, just plain ol’ walking with no pressure.

I’m not sure how long it took us, but we got stopped a couple of times for traffic to go through at around the 2 mile mark.

The weather couldn’t decide what to do…rain, snow, sun, or hail. We got all four at some point this morning…

I saw Blake Shelton in concert last night…

Okay, okay…so I saw Justin Moore and Dia Frampton (sort of) too, but I really saw Blake – I met him courtesy of the Blake Shelton Fan Club (BS’ers).

The meet and greet was scheduled for 7:45, but the lights went down for Dia Frampton at 7:25 and I quickly realized I better get a move on to the meeting place.

They lined us up, and I don’t think we got to meet Blake before 8-8:15. I was surprised at just how tall Blake Shelton is…I’m not sure I came up to his shoulder, but I’ll find out when I get the meet and greet picture.

By the time I got back to my seat, Justin Moore had just taken the stage for his first song. My husband handed over control of the camera to me, and we stood up for the next few hours.

It was an enjoyable concert – I love seeing both Blake and Justin in concert.
