PDX Photowalk, a set on Flickr.

Had a great time doing the photowalk in rainy and cold PDX – but was happy to eat and drink at the Hair of the Dog brewing company at the end.

Instagram Photos January 10-15, 2012

Instagram Jan 10-15, originally uploaded by Rachel Houghton.

I can’t post directly from Instagram to this blog, so I’m happy to have found a way to post my photos in a format people can enjoy. Now to just keep up posting these….

I reached a major milestone on Twitter today…

After my 10,000th tweet!, originally uploaded by Rachel Houghton.

I tweeted my 10,000th tweet. This may seem like a lot, but my Twitter stream is what Klout classifies as a “specialist” – someone who creates content that is spread throughout your network and drives discussions.

I tweet a lot about technical communication and photography, but I also tend to live tweet during conferences, post random Instagram pics, and tweet my favorite country music artists.

Snow, one hour later

Snow at 2 pm #2, originally uploaded by Rachel Houghton.

Yes, if you look at the previous picture, the trees in the back are these same trees, just a little closer zoomed in.

Not a hint of snow in the air, and the snow is barely hanging on for dear life on the branches.

We got snow…..for a few minutes!

Snow at 1 pm #2, originally uploaded by Rachel Houghton.

On Sunday, we had off and on snow that would not stick. Living at 250 feet above sea level means that a) snow does not happen often and b) snow does not stick around that long when it does happen.

I stepped outside the front door for a few seconds, hoping to catch the snow “storm” in full force.

My next post will show the snow, 1 hour later. :)
